Ring Road Walk

Provisionally, I'm planning yet another attempt walking the 53km Koh Samui ring road on Sunday 12th June.   Hopefully there will be at least 3 of us, setting out from the One Way pub in Lamai at about 7am.   We will be going in the anti-clockwise direction, past Lotus in Chaweng, Maenam, Bang Por & Nathon.
Our aim is to attempt to complete it in less than 9 hours, my 2 previous times were 9 hours 50 minutes & 9 hours 10 minutes.   A friend called Geir from Norway is coming over here specially for the occasion (also, he has a beautiful girl friend in Lamai called Milk, so maybe she is the main reason??)    He actually completed the first walk with me, in spite of suffering some really bad blisters, which he didn't mention until afterwards.
2 other friends, Alan & Nok, may be joining us also & we are all in training now.   We are hoping that the weather is kind to us, we need it to be overcast, cool & slightly breezy (wishful thinking in Koh Samui).

The one good thing about ring road walking, as opposed to hill walking, is that we can travel light, all we need is one bottle of water with electrolyte, with a spare sachet in our pocket, some money for water & bananas & a Tiger afterwards ( I would have included money for a songthaew, in case we abort but that is showing negative waves!)    In preparation for this, we need plenty of sun-bloc on exposed skin, a small towel, a hat & good comfortable trainers (not new,not old).    We walk facing the traffic, except when it's unsafe to do so & most of the time we are in single file, keeping well into the side of the road.   It will be non-stop, except for water, fruit & the call of nature.
If anyone is interested in joining us, give me a call on '0857854574.
